  • Air Force Aid Society assistance now available to Reservists in all statuses

    The Air Force Aid Society is now providing emergency assistance to all Airmen and Guardians, regardless of duty status. Before the change in policy took effect on May 6, only Reservists or Guardsmen on an active-duty status were eligible for AFAS emergency assistance.

    Reserve Citizen Airmen are now able to access Developing Resilient Leader, or DRL, content on demand on any device from one easy-to-access location on the Air Force Connect app. The DRL Digital Age Learning Content Wall of the Air Force Reserve Command’s AF Connect page was designed to be an easy-to-access and user-friendly hub for DRL-related information, documents and links. The content will provide resiliency material for AFRC’s 74,000 Airmen, with new content added on a scheduled basis for commanders to use and present as needed.
  • 2021 hurricane season begins

    Hurricane season is June 1 to November 30. The 2021 tropical forecast is for another above average Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from June 1 to Nov. 30, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.  
  • Air Force releases updated fitness test score breakdown

    Without the waist measurement as a scored component, push-ups and sit-ups will increase from 10 to 20 points each, while the 1.5-mile run will remain at 60 points. Scoring will fall into five-year age groups, as opposed to the previous 10.

    A Special Tactics Training Squadron facility is renamed after U.S. Air Force Capt. Matthew Roland, a special tactics officer who died in combat near Camp Antonik, Afghanistan, Aug. 26, 2015, at Hurlburt Field, Florida, May 6, 2021. Roland was awarded the Silver Star Medal June 1, 2016, for his courageous actions on that fateful day in 2015.
