Reservist to be recognized at Destin event

DUKE FIELD, Fla. -- A Duke Field reservist will be honored with the key to the city of Destin Aug. 14 at the "Red, White and Blue Celebration" at the Destin Harbor.

Capt. Carmel R. Weed Jr., a 919th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron officer here, will be recognized at 7 p.m. as a local military hero for his recognition as the wing's Company Grade Officer of the Year for 2007.

The event, sponsored by the Destin Harbor Association, will conclude with fireworks over the harbor.
