Commander's Labor Day message

Citizen Air Commandos,

As the country pays tribute to American workers during the Labor Day weekend, it’s important we also honor the contributions our workforce has made to the peace, prosperity and well being of our nation.

For 70 years, American Airmen have been breaking barriers as members of the finest warfighting force on the planet. Citizen Airmen from this airfield have been a vital part of that combat capability supporting contingency operations all over the world.

We’re continuing that tradition today, Active Duty, Reserve and Department of Defense civilians working together fully engaged and indistinguishable on the battlefield.

I thank you, your families and your civilian employers for your selfless service and dedication to winning today’s fight while preparing for tomorrow’s potential threats.

As you enjoy the remaining days of warm weather and the company of friends and family, please remember safety requires a conscious effort on everyone’s part. Reckless behavior often has severe consequences.

Enjoy the time away but be disciplined in your actions and make the “right” decision in whatever you do.

Have a safe and Happy Labor Day weekend!
