As we prepare to enter the Holiday season, I’d like to thank you and your families for your selfless sacrifice an unwavering dedication to our nation’s defense.

More than 51 million Americans will travel to visit family and friends over the Thanksgiving holiday. Whether you’re among those traveling or planning a family gathering here at home, know you are part of one of the most respects families in the world – the U.S. Armed Forces.

I encourage each of you to use this time to reflect on the many blessings we have to be grateful for in life.

Nearly 10 percent of the 919th Special Operations Wing is continuously deployed around the globe bringing a measure of peace and stability to areas plagued by strife and unrest. Please remember them and our other SOF brothers and sisters who are defending the line at home and distant points around the globe. Their loved ones will undoubtedly endure another family gathering with an empty chair at the table and a heavy heart while they are away from home.

Thank you again for your service to the nation. You represent the very best America has to offer, and I’m humbled to be a part of your team. Stay safe and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
