Colonel Andrew J. Kenney is the Vice Commander, 919th Special Operations Wing, Duke Field, Florida. He provides leadership to organize, train, equip, and maintain the Air Force Reserve Command's only special operations wing. He leads the wing's special operations forces ensuring unit readiness for worldwide deployments in support of combatant commands as well as directs wing headquarters staff functions.

The 919th Special Operations Wing, in a classic association with the 492nd Special Operations Wing, provides operations and maintenance personnel to support C-146 and aviation advisor programs for the Air Force Special Operations Command in addition to AC-130J, C-146, and U-28 formal training unit flight instruction. The 919th Special Operations Wing also employs the MQ-9 remotely piloted aircraft.

Colonel Kenney received his commission from the United States Air Force Academy in 2001 and attended Joint Undergraduate Pilot Training at Vance AFB, Okla. Upon completion of pilot training, Colonel Kenney flew the C-5 in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom before transitioning to Air Force Special Operations Command. He has deployed as part of multiple Joint Special Operations Air Component Headquarters supporting special operations throughout the Middle East and Africa. He is a command pilot with more than 4,300 hours and has served as a C-5 instructor pilot, MQ-1 instructor pilot, and MQ-9 evaluator pilot, with combat experience supporting multiple contingency operations.
