A rendering of a twin float amphibious modification to an MC-130J Commando II is shown here. Air Force Special Operations Command and private sector counterparts are currently developing a Removable Amphibious Float Modification (RAFM) for the MC-130J, allowing aircraft to take off and land in bodies of water and conduct runway independent operations. Spray mission’s future soars in test flight

Senior Airman Khala Walls, an aerospace maintainer with the 910th Maintenance Squadron, installs an aerial spray-modified troop door onto a C-130J-30 Super Hercules aircraft from Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi, visiting Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio, March 19, 2024. Maintainers modified the C-130J-30 to test the operability of the 910th Airlift Wing’s unique electronic modular aerial spray system aboard the airframe as the 910th prepares to upgrade its aging C-130H Hercules fleet to new C-130J-30 models. The project was carried out in partnership between 910th Airlift Wing maintenance personnel and aerial spray specialists, members from the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex C-130 System Program Office, Georgia, and test flight aircrew from Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas.
