Eglin's Air Armament Museum was the enlistment site for 27 new Air Force Reserve Airmen Oct. 3 as part of a mass enlistment ceremonies taking place throughout the country.

"Reserve enlistment ceremonies are taking place this month at ball games and various events," said Senior Master Sgt. Russell Forsee, Air Force Reserve senior recruiter. "We wanted to hold ours here and focus on the enlistment."

One of the enlistees, 23-year-old Adam Munoz, leaves for basic training in March.

"I'm looking forward to all of it," said the father of one. "I was in ROTC in high school and now I'm ready to start a new career in the Air Force."

Some of the enlistees were coming back to the Air Force after a previous active duty enlistment.

"I'm ready to work on planes again," said 31-year-old Edward Ashford, who returns to the reserves after a nine-year absence. "I got out and went to school, but I just missed fixing aircraft and avionics."

Col. Andy Comtois, 919th Special Operations Wing vice commander, served as the presiding officer and administered of the oath of enlistment for the ceremony.

"Whether it's a one term enlistment or you decide to make it a career, the moments you experience in the Air Force will stay with you for a lifetime," said Colonel Comtois.

The colonel was proud to administer the oath to the 919th and 556th Red Horse Squadron's newest Airmen.

"It's an honor and privilege to enlist these new Air Force Reserve Airmen," said the colonel. "As an officer and vice commander, it means a great deal to be able to share their start on a new career and Air Force life."

Nine of the new enlistees were from the Air Force's GET-One program in which unit members receive rewards for referring others to the Air Force.
