The Duke Field Integrated Resiliency Optimization Network team recently expanded its capabilities in the physical pillar by adding a new member to the team.

Brad Ohrt, the newest strength training coach at the Duke Dome, is now part of the Preservation of the Force and Family team.

“I wanted to make a change to the military tactical training side of things,” said Ohrt. “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to help people get strong, get in better shape, and have productive lives down the line.”

Ohrt was previously a college strength and conditioning coach and has over 25 years of experience. He is originally from Florida and worked from coast to coast at multiple universities before arriving to Duke Field.

“We are very excited that we have such a high quality strength coach that is taking care of our Airmen who work at night,” said Chad Brown, the POTFF physical pillar lead. “This is an initiative to help all of our members achieve their fitness goals regardless of the shift they are assigned.”

While it sits in a non-descript building on base, the Duke Dome is a training center, not a regular fitness center. It has coaches that create workouts tailored to help with the specific jobs performed by Air Commandos at Duke Field.

With this new addition to the team, the Duke Dome will soon extend its hours to midnight Monday through Thursday.

“At the Duke Dome you can get quality workouts that are tailored to your job led by top notch strength coaches with top of the line equipment,” said Brown. “Our coaches help create programs so our Airmen can do their jobs better, longer and get back to the fight if they are injured. The staff here can tailor our programs to any skill level from PT failure to the top athlete.”

The Duke Dome is now open to all Air Force specialty codes at all times. Training Sessions start at 6:30 a.m. Monday to Friday.  The last training session on Fri starts at 11 a.m.

The new late night hours begin May 9, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Ohrt, or another strength and conditioning coach, will available to assist with a tailored workout for Airmen to meet their specific needs.
