The 919th Special Operations Wing commander installed commander's comments/suggestion boxes at various locations around the base. When the questions/comments are applicable wing-wide they will be published on the home page and members who provide their name and contact information will be contacted directly.

Here are the January comments/suggestions and the commander's responses:

Computers in LRS
Comment:
Have IT try to fix the computers in room 104.  We have six and only three work.  It makes it difficult to have good time management.  Everyone will be able to get work done on time and together.

Response:  We brought this comment to the attention of squadron leadership, and they have completed an assessment of all the computers and have entered in a trouble ticket to get the inoperable ones back on the LAN as soon as possible.   As of today those three machines are back on the LAN.

LRS training
Comment:
TMO does not have a place to do hands-on training on Duke Field.   We do our best to visit the TMO building on Eglin during UTA, but this is difficult at times to accomplish on UTA weekends because AD only works M-F.  Tasks and training would be completed in a more timely and efficient manner.   TMO can have hands-on training at Duke Field cutting down travel time to Eglin and using that time to train instead.

Response:  As of now, the host-tenant support agreement we have with Eglin AFB precludes most TMO activities from taking place at Duke Field.  In addition, there currently is no TMO "simulator" for CMOS or a stand-alone system that can be used solely for training purposes.

That leaves us in a position where we must rely on using local bases that have TMO activities in addition to using AT to go outside of the local area to get the required training.  If you have an idea of how we can do that training, I ask that you come forward to your leadership.  There may be a new training system or method that you have come across that we don't know about or haven't considered.

Fitness Center
Comment:
Let Eglin Security Forces use the gym.

Response:  We have contacted your squadron leadership to inform them that the 919th SOW Fitness Center is open to their personnel on days but ONLY when they have duty here at Duke.  We are now registering CAC cards for the new card reader that will give you access to the gym and the facility manager has been directed to register cards of 96th SFS members.
