Maj. Samuel Taylor, 919th Security Forces Squadron commander, is the recipient of the Lt. Joseph D. Helton leadership award. Taylor earned the honor for exemplary leadership at the security forces technical school. The award was named after Joseph Helton, a security forces member from MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., who was killed after he volunteered to extend his deployment in 2009.
