Chief Master Sgt. Lyle Spangler presents Col. (retired) Kenny Ray with a memento of being named an honorary chief master sergeant at Duke Field, Jan. 9.  Colonel Ray was a former 711th Special Operations Squadron commander and 919th Special Operations Wing vice commander.  The impromptu presentation took place during Chief Spangler’s retirement ceremony.  Chief Spangler began his 36-year career in 1973 and transitioned to the reserves in 1978.
