Chief Master Sergeant Joshua Fugle

Chief Master Sergeant Joshua G. Fugle is the Command Chief Master Sergeant, 919th Special Operations Wing, Air Force Reserve Command, Duke Field, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. He is the senior enlisted leader for the Citizen Air Commandos of the Air Force Reserve Command’s only Special Operations Wing. He advises the commander on all matters pertaining to the health, morale, welfare, professional development, training, and effective management of over 1,600 Airmen. The 919th SOW performs the Air Force’s Expeditionary Combat Support mission as well as its Non-Standard Aviation programs utilizing the C-146A Wolfhound aircraft. Airmen assigned to the unit conduct flight instruction and deploy as required in the U-28, PC-12, AC-130J and C-146A aircraft. The wing also employs the MQ-9 remotely piloted aircraft in support of combatant commanders worldwide. Members of the 919th SOW also deliver full motion video processing, exploitation and dissemination to special operations forces engaged in combat and non-combat operations around the globe.

Chief Fugle enlisted in the U. S. Air Force Reserve in February 2003 and graduated from the C-17A Loadmaster Initial Qualification course in April of 2004. In his 21 years of enlistment, he has served in a variety of management and leadership positions, including flight leader, flight supervisor, chief loadmaster and Operation Group Senior Enlisted Leader. In his civilian life, he is employed as a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer.

During his career, Chief Fugle has served in direct support of Operations ALLIES REFUGE, NOBLE EAGLE, ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, NEW DAWN, INHERENT RESOLVE, FREEDOM’S SENTINEL, KOSOVO DEFENSE CAMPAIGN and several humanitarian campaigns including ALLIES REFUGE. He has served on several special duty TDYs, including PHOENIX BANNER Presidential Support missions and assignment as a Line Audit Safety Observer (LOSA) for AMC, performing C-17A safety inspections fleet wide. In his previous assignment, Chief Fugle was the Senior Enlisted Leader, 315th Operations Group, Joint Base Charleston, S.C.
