Duke Field 'loggies' lead way in command awards

An unit tasked with ensuring the 919th Special Operations Wing's war readiness showed it was more than ready to dominate Air Force Reserve Command's annual logistics awards.

The 919th Logistics Readiness Squadron claimed a whopping six awards - one for the entire unit and five going to individual members .  They include:

The squadron's stated mission is to provide mission critical logistics readiness capabilities to support all aspects of day to day and combat-related logistics management for the 919th SOW.  Its executes logistics global reach by training, equipping, leading and organizing all aspects of logistics for worldwide warfighting missions.

The logistics experts -- affectionately known as "loggies" -- serve as the heartbeat of the wing's deployment machine and is critical to contingency operational support and training.  It is also responsible for  providing airdrop support for MC-130E Combat Talon I aircraft while providing aircrew training for low-level, tactical and covert airdrop missions.

The squadron comprises five distinct components in support of the 919th SOW mission:  vehicle management, logistics plans, aerial delivery, supply and fuels.
