Eight Duke Airmen earn immediate promotions

Eight Air Force reservists here were recently promoted under the Promotion Enhancement Program. Colonel Andy Comtois, 919th Special Operations Wing vice commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Michael Klausutis, 919th SOW command chief, traveled to several different Duke Field work centers to make the surprise, on-the-spot presentations of new enlisted stripes to the following Airmen during the wing's unit training assembly Oct. 2 :

Promoted to the rank of technical sergeant:
Wayne Chamberlin, 919th Maintenance Squadron
Adam Crawford, 919th MXS
Alexandra Holstead, 919th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron

Promoted to the rank of master sergeant:
Melvin Benton, 919th Logistics Readiness Squadron 
Diana Kendall, 919th SOW financial management
Michael Lonon, 919th MXS
Jeffery March, 919th Communications Squadron
Duane Van Vrancken, 919th MXS

The PEP is a commander's program designed to promote outstanding and well-deserving Air Force enlisted reservists to one pay grade above the authorized grade for their position. Only those Airmen who demonstrate outstanding potential and the ability to serve in the next higher grade are considered for these promotions.
