'PEPed' up
Technical Sgt. Wayne Chamberlin, 919th Maintenance Squadron, stands at attention as Chief Master Sgt. Michael Klausutis, 919th Special Operations Wing command chief, “tacks on” his new stripes during a surprise promotion ceremony Oct. 2 at Duke Field. Sergeant Chamberlin was one of eight Duke Field reservists awarded immediate Promotion Enhancement Program promotions during the wing’s October unit training assembly. The PEP is a commander’s program designed to promote outstanding and well-deserving Air Force Reserve Airmen one grade above the authorized grade for their position. Only those Airmen who show outstanding potential are considered based on a demonstrated ability to serve in the next higher grade. (U.S. Air Force photo/Dan Neely)
