HULRBURT FIELD, Fla. -- President Mario Abdo Benítez of the Republic of Paraguay visited here March 30-31 to meet with Lt. Gen. Tony D. Bauernfeind, commander of Air Force Special Operations Command, Col. Allison Black, 1st Special Operations Wing commander, and other senior leaders within the Air Force special operations forces.
During the visit, President Abdo Benítez visited the Hurlburt Field Memorial Air Park witnessing more than 70 years of SOF heritage fossilized for visitors; he visited the Commando Hangar, meeting with Air Commandos who lead Air Force SOF today; finally, he viewed an unmanned aerial vehicle demonstration.
The visit also included long discussions between President Abdo Benítez and senior AFSOC members. The United States is a trusted partner to Paraguay with shared threats and concerns posed by challenging geopolitical competition.
Hurlburt Field is home to three special operations wings responsible for worldwide operations in support of joint and coalition special operations missions including direct action, unconventional warfare, special reconnaissance, counterterrorism, personnel recovery, psychological operations, and information operations.
