EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – Fines for trespassing violations at the Santa Rosa Island Closed Test Area increased May 31, 2024. The trespassing fine is a minimum of $250 for a first-time offense. The previous fine was $65.

The U.S. District Court, Northern District of Florida Pensacola Division modified the fines for violations of laws and regulations enforced by the U.S. within the boundaries of Eglin AFB.

The 96th Security Forces Squadron patrols will issue citations to trespassers at the site. Individuals cited for trespassing must either appear before a U.S. magistrate judge or if eligible, pay the $250 fine.

There are “NO ADMITTANCE” signage and barriers identifying the SRI Closed Test area, which stretches west of the El Matador Condominiums in Fort Walton Beach to Navarre Beach.
