EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla, -- The 101 Critical Days of Summer mishap prevention campaign happens now through Sept. 3. Although the presentation and number of mishaps change each year, safety topics and the nature of injuries suffered have remained the same. “Personal risk management is key to protecting our most important resource; the men and women of Team Eglin and their families,” said Col. Vincent Chioma, 96th Test Wing Chief of Safety. “Each one of us plays a role to help achieve our goal. Preparation, common sense, and self-discipline are all keys to maintaining mission readiness and enjoying a safe summer.”
Applying sound and effective risk management principals is critical to ensure safety. Eglin’s Safety Office emphasizes consideration of the risks associated with all summer activities and encourages implementing sound prevention methods to ensure the base community remains injury free, while carrying the fight forward.
This year, the 96th Test Wing Safety Office created an informational resource center on the 96th Test Wing Occupational Safety SharePoint site to consolidate military service component-specific summer safety campaign links for awareness across Team Eglin.
