Labor Day message from the commander

Citizen Air Commandos,

Labor Day is about celebrating the contributions of workers that provide strength, prosperity, and well-being to our nation. I want to take this opportunity to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of each of you as you contribute to the mission of the 919th Special Operations Wing. This has been an unprecedented year of challenges, and you have all found innovative ways to continue to get the job done.

We’ve seen several changes over the past few months regarding how we spend time together. We have learned to physically distance ourselves and wear face coverings to slow the spread of COVID-19. Our traditional barbeques and beach gatherings with large groups might be smaller this year, but although we are not always able to be physically with our friends and loved ones, it’s important to stay connected, even if it’s virtually.

Take time this Labor Day weekend to relax, recharge your batteries, but please be safe as you’re doing that. You are our wing’s most important resource, and we want you to take care of yourself so you can continue to take care of the mission and your fellow Airmen at the 919th SOW.

Thank you for all you do.
