Citizen Air Commandos

Today we observe Labor Day, a time in which we honor the important role of our Nation’s workforce in preserving freedom and our way of life. It is a time for us to enjoy the fruits of our labor with friends and family. Many of us will celebrate by spending a day at the beach or firing up the grill after a weekend in which we welcomed the return of college football.

Enjoy the holiday, but please maintain your focus on safety as you are likely the last line of defense to prevent a mishap. Be smart and use good judgment in making decisions to mitigate risks whether on the water or driving to your intended destination this weekend.

Let me close by saying this has been a tough year on a number of fronts. In addition to the ongoing pandemic and world events, you are shouldering responsibility on a level most cannot imagine. You do this by providing a unique capability for America that has been the hallmark of Citizen Airmen serving at Duke Field for the past 50 years.

You are the reason why American continues to have the greatest fighting force the world has ever known. Thank you for your selfless service. I wish you and your families a happy and safe Labor Day!

Keep Crushing It!
