Today marks the 21st anniversary of the attacks on our homeland that claimed nearly 3,000 lives at the World Trade Center, Shanksville, Pa., and the Pentagon.

In the space of less than 90 minutes, our entire view of the world changed. What followed was more than two decades of combat, often times against a faceless enemy, in what is now the nation’s longest war.

Since September 11, 2001, extraordinary efforts have been made by so many to keep America safe from another attack.

Men and women of the 919th Special Operations Wing have been right there from the very beginning. Your willingness to always answer the call and perform in combat, is indicative of the valor that has characterized this unit since it’s inception more than 50 years ago.

On the anniversary of 9/11, we should all take time to remember those who lost their lives and the friends and loved ones left behind. Each life lost was a family member, a co-worker, a neighbor and a friend. Today, we remember and honor them.

Thank you and your families for standing watch and protecting this great Nation…Anytime, Anyplace!

Never Forget,
