Parking, Mother's Day, kudos Published July 18, 2016 919th Special Operations Wing public affairs DUKE FIELD, Fla. -- Here are the comments/suggestions and the commander’s responses: a. Parking at Combat Fitness pavilion Comment: Suggest that those who use the outside crossfit center use lodging parking and building 3107 parking lot during the week. There is plenty of unused parking space. It increases the member’s warm-up session by 50 feet and three minutes of walking and preserves the new grass recently laid out. It makes little sense to park as close as you can get to work out. Stay off the grass! Response: I agree with you 100 percent. Over the last week or so, I have driven by the pavilion at differing times throughout the day and if cars have been parked on the grass I have found the owners and had them move their vehicles. I ask that everybody help me to spread the word to use the nearby parking spaces- billeting, Bldg. 3107 and the field house. b. Mother’s Day Comment: If the Reserve promotes Family First, then why is Mother’s Day on Sunday of UTA not important enough to not have mandatory All Calls? Response: As I addressed last month, every seven years or so the normal UTA weekend (first weekend of the month) falls on the same weekend with Mother’s Day (second Sunday of May). The reason that UTA was held on Mother’s Day was not because of the All Call with Lt Gen Heithold; the UTA was already scheduled and Gen Heithold graciously agreed to address the wing on that day. c. PII Breach Comment: What is the latest information on the ID Card/Goodwill issue? We have heard nothing and need information to protect ourselves and our families. Response: All affected members of this possible breach have been directly notified via personal letters to their home of record with details of the investigation. If you are one of the affected members, there is a POC on the letter for you to notify for further questions or concerns. d. Kudos to 919 SOFSS, Responses for (d-j) are held until after the final comment Comment: My experience coming out to Duke Field to get and ID card was my first (usually went to Eglin AFB) wish I would have come here to begin with. TSgt Trevino answered my call and I was able to get an appt same day! SSgt Paul greeted me and assisted with the ID card. I did have a couple of other questions and both TSgt Trevino and SSgt Paul inquired about them made a couple of calls and got the necessary info for me. They are both professional and courteous. Blessed to have such GREAT people working here! They are also “people” oriented. e. Comment: On June 10, 2016 TSgt Trevino went above and beyond assisting my son in getting his full-time student ID. I was under the assumption the Duke Field facility was walk-in appts but TSgt Trevino took the extra time to alleviate a wasted trip. f. Comment: I just wanted to pass along a few comments of gratitude to the pass and ID section and TSgt Trevino. Since I have become a regular member of the 919th population I am now just a regular customer. I have had to come in “last minute scramble” style to get things done and processed for TDYs. TSgt Trevino and his staff have gone above and beyond every time to assist me and my family with new ID cards, DEERs and more. Thanks again for all they do. g. Comment: TSgt Trevino/SSgt Anliker, thank you so much for opening your doors early to squeeze in ANOTHER appointment in your already busy day. Both of your attitudes and professional assistance is unmatched. Happy Memorial Day and thank you for your service. h. Comment: I would like to recognize TSgt Trevino for his great customer service and timely responses regarding all FSS-related issues that come up with members of the D&TF flight. He always focuses on putting the mission first! i. Comment: I was unable to reach the ID office by phone and although my ID was already expired I decided to just drive in and hopefully be able to renew my ID card. I was unaware of the new appt policy however I was able to speak with TSgt Trevino in the ID card office on Duke Field. Although he was busy and I didn’t have an appt he took it upon himself to lend me a hand and update my ID card. Small helpful gestures help the military and do not hinder it. Thank you TSgt Trevino. j. Comment: During my physical fitness assessment on 10 June, the two fitness training managers, MSgt Kenny and TSgt Antillon-Gutierrez, were both outstanding. They ensured everyone understood the critical AFI rules and properly demonstrated best form for the exercises. Unlike many times before, the two NCOs kept things very controlled and organized at the Duke Fitness Center as well as the 7th SF gym. I am very proud we are surrounded by truly knowledgeable and professional NCOs. They help us all win! d-j Response: Thank you very much for all the KUDOS! Team SOFSS is going through major changes and continues to provide extraordinary customer service, not only to our 1,275 wing members but hundreds of retires, active duty members and dependents in and around the local area. Hearing your positive feedback is always rewarding for our members when they are doing a good job, so thank you for taking your time to fill out the comment cards. 2.
