Training aircraft arrives
The newest edition to the Duke Field flightline, the C-146 Wolfhound, touches down at its new home Jan. 5. The 919th Special Operations Wing will use the new dedicated aircraft to begin its maintenance training. Maintenance Airmen must create a complete the first-ever Air Force training plan, aircraft procedures and checklists for the Wolfhound. Previously, the aircraft was maintained via contractors. The 84-year-old Haugen, who passed away Dec. 1, was the first commander of a 919th designated unit assigned to Duke Field, the 919th Tactical Airlift Group. The designation still resides there today with the special operations Reserve unit, 919th Special Operations Wing, still resides there today.
