A C-145 Skytruck was one of the many aircraft on display at the “Airpower Petting Zoo” set up in King Hangar for the Commander-In-Chief’s Installation Excellence Award team visit Jan. 15 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. The 919th Special Operations Wing aircraft and displays from nearly every Team Eglin unit were represented in the hangar to provide a lasting impression of the base before the evaluators left to make their selections of this year’s winner. The newest edition to the Duke Field flightline, the C-146 Wolfhound, touches down at its new home Jan. 5. The 919th Special Operations Wing will use the new dedicated aircraft to begin its maintenance training. Maintenance Airmen must create a complete the first-ever Air Force training plan, aircraft procedures and checklists for the Wolfhound. Previously, the aircraft was maintained via contractors.
