Ted Roberts, a 28-year Air Force veteran, dries a newly created funnel cake before adding a topping at his refreshment stand during the case lot sale held at Duke Field May 2. The retired lieutenant colonel sold refreshments and snacks to customers waiting to go into the warehouse. The Fort Walton Beach native said that after he retired, his wife told him ‘he wasn’t going to play golf all day – he had to get a job.’ He has been running the refreshment stand ever since.
