Fry King
Ted Roberts, a 28-year Air Force veteran, uses his make-shift curly fry maker to fill up a basket before dropping them in the fryer at Duke Field May 2. Mr. Roberts sold refreshments and snacks to the patrons of the case lot sale taking place May 2 and 3. The retired lieutenant colonel added a drill to the handle of the fry maker to speed up the cutting process. The Fort Walton Beach native said that after he retired, his wife told him ‘he wasn’t going to play golf all day – he had to get a job.’ He has been running the refreshment stand ever since.
