Tech. Sgt. Timothy Crabtree and Master Sgt. Robert Pinard, 919th Special Operations Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, were named the 919th Special Operations Wing’s 2014 Safety Persons of the Year at a ceremony Jan 11 at Duke Field Fla.  Senior Airman Jordan Bramlette, 919th SOMXS, not pictured, also shared in the award.  Pinard took control of a situation where an Airman had collapsed and was unresponsive after a physical assessment.  Pinard began to resuscitate the Airman using CPR.  Crabtree retrieved and applied the AED and administered shock to the Airman.  Bramlett called 911 for further medical assistance.    (U.S. Air Force photo/Dan Neely)

The instructors and students of the 6th Ranger Training Battalion located at Camp James E. Rudder demonstrate a small portion of the training it takes to become an Army Ranger.  The 61-day Ranger course ends in the humid swamps that surround Camp Rudder where trainees begin an 18-day field training course in a simulated combat environment.  Daily challenges students encounter include severe weather, swampy terrain, periods of hunger, mental and physical fatigue, as well as emotional stress.
