Commander's Thanksgiving message

  • Published
Fellow 919th SOW Members,

The holidays are a special time to show our appreciation and gratitude for the many blessings bestowed upon us. This Thanksgiving Day, I ask that each of you keep in mind your brothers- and sisters-in-arms who are separated from their families due to deployment; not only from this wing but from all other military organizations.

Please also remember our wing members who must work through this holiday weekend in order to meet our National Command Authority taskings -- the 2 SOS and the wing Command Post have 24/7 operations that don’t stop for holiday celebrations.

This year when we gather around the dinner table at Thanksgiving, we will reflect on the many things we are thankful for in this great country of ours. One thing I am very thankful for is that America produces men and women such as yourselves who have volunteered to serve our country despite the sacrifices that service requires.

I appreciate that service and everything that each of you do for our wing and for our country.

Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

Col. Jim Phillips
919th Special Operations Wing commander
