Resiliency Support Team continues to innovate during COVID-19

Members from multiple helping agencies and services come together every month as part of the 919th SOW Resiliency Support Team to work together to create events and provide services for Citizen Air Commandos and their families. When COVID-19 restrictions limited in-person meetings, the team was able to get together quickly to brainstorm options for virtual services and now has a system to virtually support members.

On October 3, 2020 the 919th Special Operations Wing First Sergeant Council presented Chief Master Sgt. Christina L. Bicknell, 919th Special Operations Mission Support Group superintendent, with an Air Force Reserve Command Order of the Diamond induction certificate.

Senior Airman Zatavia Funchess, a 919th Special Operations Security Forces Squadron defender, joined the Air Force Reserve after she became homeless at 17. Her wingmen at the 919th Special Operations Wing have helped her to overcome some adversity in her life and get her set on a path for success.

Flight surgeons one step ahead of COVID

Flight surgeons are the primary military medical care providers for flight crew. They perform periodic health assessments, physical fitness tests, waivers and any pre-deployment medical screenings for flight-crew Airmen, and serve as the first point of contact in their units for anything medical.

919th SOW Airman helps combat COVID-19

The 919th Special Operations Wing is working to slow the spread of COVID-19 by increasing sanitation, implementing the use of face coverings, socially distancing when possible and bringing in some extra help to get the job done. One Airman taking on some extra work at the 919th Special Operations Medical Squadron is Tech. Sgt. Anthony Rios, a public health technician with the 919th SOMDS.
